School Sponsorprogramma

Bonface Mbuvi

Bonface has been sponsored by Robert Hill from the United Kingdom. Robert, thank you so much for enabling Bonface to have an education!

Birthday: 23rd of June 2010

Bonface is eight years old and lives with his mother and siblings in the Soweto slums in Kahawa, Nairobi. Their mother tries to sell a few groceries at a market nearby, but a big part of the family budget is provided by his big sister through the cleaning of train platforms. It has been particularly devastating for a year now since his mother fell into a deep depression. When the mother became seriously ill last year and there was no money for the examination, the Soweto Youth Initiative launched a fundraising and was able to bring her into contact with the doctors. Since then she has not been healthy again and can hardly cope with her life in the slums. Bonface's father died of cancer in 2013.
When Bonface grows up, he'd like to be a police officer or join the Army. Even in his free time, he likes to pretend to be a police officer and ensures that the household is calm and tidy. The little policeman also likes to help his sister at work and takes care of his mother.
