Chris has been sponsored by Ramona from Germany. Ramona, thank you so much for enabling Chris to have an education!
Birthday: 20th of November 2017
Chris is eight years old and lives with his mother and two younger siblings in Kahawa West, Nairobi.
Unfortunately, his father became addicted to alcohol at an early age, left the family, built a new life and unfortunately never comes to visit. Chris is currently attending the ... class at Kahawa Primary School and we found out about his situation through the school office. His mother can hardly keep the family afloat. Chris' teacher is the one who buys him lunch every now and then and sometimes even financially supports his mother. The mother's despair was already so bad that she wanted to sell
her newborn to the teacher. This poverty rubs off on Chris too. It's not uncommon for him to miss school on Mondays because he didn't get food on weekends. His stomach is growling and even when he is at school he cannot concentrate.
We visited his family and decided to sponsor them separately. Chris is one of the children, which we would like to support beyond school funding, because school fees do not help on a hungry stomach. We have found a great sponsor and hope to at least improve his situation a little.
Once Chris grows up, it is his dream to become a Matatu driver. He wants to learn how to drive a car and support his family with his income.
In his free time he prays a lot, plays with his marbles and helps his mother in the household. His favourite colour is red.
