David Gathanji - 6 Years Old
Birthday: 13th of November 2013
David is six years old and lives with his mother and little sister Joyce in the Soweto Slums in Kahawa, Nairobi. In order to feed the small family, his mother works in the garden and plants fruits and vegetables for the neighborhood. David's parents have not been together for two years. His father had a major alcohol and violence problem for years. As soon as David's mother questioned the father's intentions, he reacted violently and hit her and the children. After this happened a few times David's mother grabbed him and his sister and came to the Soweto slums. Since then, their life has changed fundamentally and the family has heard nothing from
his father. David has learned from his past and has the dream of becoming a police officer to arrest all the violent and drunk people who sell alcohol illegally. Davis loves his little sister the most in his life. In his free time he likes to play, like drinking tea, writing stories and painting pictures. His favorite color is black because he thinks this color makes his pictures look good. Most of all he is looking forward in school of having his own pencil, to write with it and to a great class teacher.
David's sponsorship consists of 50$ every year.Click Here To Sponsor A Child
